Fluor has been recognized by the Puerto Rico Manufacturing Association (PRMA) for 15 straight years of Distinguished Safety Performance and 11 straight years of Excellence in Safety. Only three companies were granted the Excellence in Safety Award. Fluor was the only engineering, procurement and construction company recognized.

“Fluor is an industry leader in best practices for health, safety and environmental stewardship,” said Danny Oppenheimer, operations manager of Fluor’s Life Sciences and Advanced Manufacturing business line in Puerto Rico. “These awards showcase our long-standing commitment to safety and how safety is embedded into our culture at Fluor. We are proud of that legacy.”

Fluor has executed more than $30 billion in projects for the pharmaceutical, biomedical and food and beverage industries on Puerto Rico for 52 years out of its San Juan office. Approximately 85 percent of the pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities in Puerto Rico have been engineered, built or maintained by Fluor and it is the largest engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning and validation firm on the island.
