    Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, Fluor’s Golf for Greenville Charitable Golf Tournament in Greenville, South Carolina, raised $475,000 on May 19 for the Boys Scouts of America's Blue Ridge Council and the Urban League of the Upstate, setting a new record and besting last year’s $400,000 total.

    Fluor volunteers participated in a two-phase refurbishment for Our Lady of the Wayside, a foster care facility in Port of Spain, Trinidad. The home accommodates newborns and children who have been abandoned, abused, neglected or brought to the facility by social workers and/or civil authorities.

    Fluor employees in Houston aced their fundraising goal this year for the company's annual Golf for Greater Houston charity event.

    The event, organized by employees, set an all time record by raising $323,000 for five local social service organizations in Fort Bend and Harris Counties.

    On a recent winter morning, nearly 40 Fluor employees in India braved the cold to join in the Great Delhi Run to raise money for Khushboo Welfare Society, which supports children with disabilities.

    The run was a part of the sixth annual Delhi Half Marathon, which provides an opportunity to sprint for the underprivileged.

    Fluor offices in North America wrapped up a successful 2013 Employee Giving Campaign that raised a company record of $4.85 million for the United Way, its agencies and other qualified health and human service organizations.

    This represents a 12 percent increase from the previous year’s total.

    Welding students in Texas will soon have the opportunity to develop their skills using state-of-the-art welding equipment from three donations by Fluor.

    In a joint effort among 15 of Fluor’s offices and project sites, groups of employees rallied together to help clean oceans, rivers, lakes and parks in honor of Fluor’s inaugural Global Shore Cleanup.

    Nearly 800 employees and community partners across globe assisted in the effort to collect 7.7 tons of litter and clean more than 22 miles of land to ensure our shorelines and waterways are clean for generations to come.     This year, Fluor employees from 28 offices and project sites participated in the Building Futures program, donating $167,000 to provide school supplies and other necessities to more than 12,700 children.

    Building Futures, Fluor’s global backpack project, continues to impact young lives around the globe. As children prepared to go back to school, our employees generously donated to the program in order to assist them. This year 1,150 employees contributed to the program.

    On July 18, in honor of Nelson Mandela International Day, Fluor Cares volunteers in South Africa donated 67 minutes of their time to help package 2,000 meals for Stop Hunger Now. The day marked the 95th birthday for former South African President Nelson Mandela.
