    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Omaha District, has awarded Fluor a contract to construct a nuclear weapons storage and maintenance facility at the Frances E. Warren Air Force Base located approximately three miles west of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Fluor booked the $145 million contract value, which has a 40-month period of performance, in the fourth quarter of 2018.

    Fluor announced today that the world-scale ethylene production facility of The Dow Chemical Company (Dow) in Freeport, Texas was named a finalist for the Global Energy Awards Construction Project of the Year by S&P Global Platts. Fluor provided engineering, procurement and construction services for the facility, which completed safely, on schedule and with high quality in 2017.

    In a first for the United Kingdom’s nuclear industry, the Cavendish Fluor partnership has achieved care and maintenance status at Bradwell, a Magnox site in Essex. This is a safe state that allows the former nuclear power plant to remain in its present condition until its final decommissioning and demolition, which will not occur for several years.

    Fluor announced today that its two-stage absorption technology for ultra-sour gas treatment was honored by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) and ADIPEC. At IChemE’s 2018 Global Awards on November 1, 2018, Fluor’s technology was highly commended in the Process Safety award and Research Project award categories.

    Fluor has been awarded the front-end loading engineering (FEL) for the Secunda Clean Fuels Baseline Improvement Basket of Projects by Sasol South Africa (Pty) Ltd. Fluor signed the contract in the second quarter of 2018.
