Fluor Corporation was recently awarded a program delivery support services contract for the California High-Speed Rail program by the California High-Speed Rail Authority. Fluor, together with its joint-venture partner AECOM, will begin work on a 4-year contract to provide program delivery and program management services to support one of the largest infrastructure projects in the U.S.
“We are pleased to partner with the California High-Speed Rail Authority to deliver one of the most transformative infrastructure programs in the nation,” said Thomas Nilsson, president of Fluor’s Infrastructure business. “This groundbreaking project will not only connect regions throughout California contribute to economic development and create jobs, but also help the state meet its carbon neutrality goals while preserving agricultural and protected lands.”
The system is planned to connect the 500-mile stretch between the Los Angeles region with the San Francisco Bay Area with up to 24 stations. The first phase of the program is currently under construction in California’s Central Valley.
Fluor previously served as the managing partner and design-build program manager for the HSL-Zuid high-speed rail line in the Netherlands. Fluor’s Infrastructure experience in California includes the Los Angeles Metro Rail project, the San Bernardino highway improvement program, the LA Exposition Light Rail project, the Sprinter Mainline and San Marcos Loop projects and construction of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge.
