Fluor Corp. (NYSE:FLR - news) Tuesday announced that George K. Palmer,
54, has joined the company as its vice president of Corporate Relations.
He is responsible for providing leadership to the investor relations,
media relations, community relations and internal communications
activities of the company.
Palmer has more than 30 years of experience in public affairs; investor,
media and community relations; crisis communications and employee
communications. Most recently, he owned and managed a communications
consultancy.
Previously, he was vice president of Corporate Communications with
Rhone-Poulenc, responsible for its North American communications
strategy and execution. Palmer also held various communications
management roles during a 23-year career with E. I. du Pont de Nemours
and Company.
"George will bring an important external perspective to our corporate
relations efforts," said Philip Carroll, chairman and chief executive
officer of Fluor Corp. "His expertise and experience will be of great
value in advancing the company's identity and image with both internal
and external audiences."
Palmer will report to Jim Rollans, senior vice president and chief
financial officer.
Palmer, his wife, Daralice (Dar) DiSabatino, and their son, Tyler, will
relocate to Southern California from the Princeton area of central New
Jersey.
