ICA Fluor Daniel Awarded $79 Million Project to Build VLS Color TV Picture Tube Facility

Fluor Corp.(NYSE:FLR) and Empresas ICA Sociedad Controladora, S.A. de C.V. (BMV:ICA) (NYSE:ICA) Monday announced that Thomson Multimedia (NYSE:TMS) has awarded ICA Fluor Daniel, S. de R.L. de C.V., a contract for the development of a state-of-the-art facility, for the production of very large screen (VLS) color TV picture tubes.

The project is located in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. ICA Fluor Daniel will provide basic and detailed engineering, equipment and material procurement, and construction. ICA Fluor Daniel's contract value is approximately $79 million. Production capacity for VLS cathode ray tubes is expected to exceed 4,000 units per day once the plant is fully operational.

"Through participation in this project, ICA Fluor Daniel supports the efforts of Thomson Multimedia and Thomson Displays Mexicana S.A. de C.V. to bring online a modern, cost-effective facility to increase its very large screen color TV picture tube manufacturing," said Jorge Borja, executive vice president of Empresas ICA and General Director of ICA Fluor Daniel.

Thomson Multimedia is the world's largest supplier of large and very large color TV pictures tubes, producing more than 15 million tubes annually. Among its activities, Thomson Multimedia develops, manufactures and sells television displays and components; consumer products such as televisions, VCRs, camcorders, audio and communications products; digital decoders; DVD players; and professional video equipment.

ICA Fluor Daniel, which is jointly owned by Empresas ICA and Fluor Daniel, a unit of Fluor Corp., has a wide range of experience in the engineering, procurement and construction of chemical, petrochemical, cement, telecommunications, refining, power, manufacturing and automotive plants, having participated in the development of more than 160 industrial plants.

Empresas ICA is Mexico's largest engineering, procurement and construction company. Founded in 1947, ICA has completed construction and engineering projects in 21 countries throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia.

ICA's principal business units are civil construction, which builds highways, bridges, dams, tunnels, ports, pipelines and other large-scale civil engineering works, as well as commercial and office centers, housing and resort developments, and affordable housing; and industrial construction, which builds refineries, electrical generation, petrochemical and industrial plants for the public and private sectors.
