IRVING, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fluor Corp. (NYSE:FLR) has been awarded program management, construction
management, and three major engineering and fabrication packages from BP
Products North America Inc. for its $3 billion Canadian Heavy Crude
Refinery Upgrade in Whiting, Ind. The initial new award of approximately
$300 million will be booked in Fluor's fourth quarter.

The scope of work that Fluor has been awarded includes the overall
integrated program management and construction management; plus the
independent engineering, procurement, and fabrication of three major
work packages, including a revamped crude distillation unit, a gas oil
hydrotreater and the refinery infrastructure facilities to support the
additional heavy crude oil processing.
Front-end engineering design is currently under way at Fluor's Sugar
Land, Texas, office.
Construction on the project is tentatively scheduled to begin in 2007,
with completion by 2011. The construction workforce at the Whiting site
is projected to be approximately 2,500 workers.
